Neighbors don't like 'funky grooves'

Kalispell Police Department received a complaint of loud music and thumping coming from a garage on Second Avenue East North. Contact was made with the music fan, who said he was “remodeling his room and jamming to some funky grooves whilst doing so.” He was advised to “turn down the funk as he was keeping neighbors up.”

Police responded to a DUI incident when someone found a man asleep at a light on East Idaho Street and Second Avenue East North. The man reportedly swerved into oncoming traffic when he woke up after someone knocked on the window. The man allegedly had three children in the car that included a 2-year-old who was in a car seat, but unbuckled.

A vehicle drove off without paying for $36 worth of gas on U.S. 93 North.

Someone driving through a parking lot on U.S. 93 North said an alleged thief was allegedly siphoning gas out of a vehicle. It turned out to be an employee replacing a fuel pump.

Someone on U.S. 93 South thought they saw a drug deal go down after seeing several cars pull up to two vehicles, throw something into one of the vehicles and take off.

A caller was concerned that a homeless man may be frozen inside a tent behind a U.S. 93 North business because there were not tracks in the snow to or from the tent and no one had seen the man around for awhile. Officers found the tent unoccupied.

A man on U.S. 93 North wanted to speak to a officer about a theft, stating that his “wings” were allegedly taken a couple of days ago. The wings had been given to him by the Hell’s Angels.

A mysterious, bearded man allegedly was looking around in the windows of a Summit Ridge Drive home.

A house was egged on East Center Street.

A generator, two gas chain saws and two toolboxes, among other items, were reported stolen from a garage on Teal Drive.

A man on Third Avenue East was reportedly pushed by another man after he went to check on noise in an upstairs apartment, concerned that a physical disturbance was going on and someone may have been pushed to the floor. Everything was quiet when law enforcement arrived.

Someone on U.S. 93 South reported seeing a man slumped over the wheel in a vehicle. Apparently the man was just warming up his vehicle.

A trailer that may have run out of fuel was partially blocking a lane on Conway Drive and U.S. 93 North.

On First Avenue East North a resident said a woman refused to leave his home and was hysterical, standing outside and screaming. The pair were separated for the night.

A vehicle was “high centered” on a snow bank in the middle of the road on Sunset Boulevard and West Colorado Street. No one was injured, but the vehicle sustained some damage.

A man suspected of being homeless was seen sleeping face down on the floor of a room at a Two Mile Drive business. The man was OK and was dropped off at the police station lobby.

A truck was spotted doing “doughnuts” in a parking lot on Wolfpack Way. The truck was gone by the time officers arrived.

In a separate incident, two trucks were seen doing doughnuts, racing on ice and revving engines on U.S. 2. A man was counseled.

Dispatchers received a 911 hangup and reportedly heard males talking about girls and beer pong.

A motorist on U.S. 93 North didn’t paid for gas and drove off in a stolen vehicle. Officers located and recovered the vehicle.

Two cartons of cigarettes were stolen from a Hutton Ranch Road business.

Whitefish Police Department received a report of a man allegedly running around the area with a shovel, yelling at passersby, asking for money and yelling at himself. The person calling in the report believed the man was on drugs. Officers counseled the man.

A man was kicked out of a Central Avenue bar because he allegedly yelled at patrons and was generally “causing problems with everyone at the bar.”

Columbia Falls Police Department placed several 24-hour notice stickers on vehicles, primarily on Diane Road and Fourth Avenue West.

Officers stopped two vehicles for reportedly having obstructed license plates.
