Kiska’s Southern Kitchen, the month-old relaunch from the owner of the former Kiska’s by the Lake in Bigfork, will begin offering lunch delivery service in Kalispell from its new location at The Docks on Central Ave.

Delivery service will begin Jan. 23 and will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Owner Jory Monroe shut down the downtown Bigfork location after less than two years and moved to Kalispell in December to try and tap into a more consistent year-round customer base. So far, he’s been pleased with the results.

“Everything’s been amazing,” Monroe said. “Lunch has been awesome, dinner’s been picking up a little bit, but compared to the location in Bigfork it’s been a big difference.”

The switch in locations also prompted Monroe to add more varied cuisine to the traditional Southern menu.

“We’ve expanded our menu a little west and a little east,” Monroe said. “We did a whole lot of barbecue in Bigfork, now we’ve gone over into Mexico and into the Southwest.

“The response to the new menu has been great,” he added. “I think people in Kalispell have really been wanting some home-cooked restaurants.”

Kiska’s Southern Kitchen describes its menu as “home-cooked Southern comfort food,” and the lineup includes waffle-witches, panini-style sandwiches with homemade waffles as buns. Monroe said the restaurant also will start “Fusion Fridays” on Jan. 20, when the kitchen will “take one cuisine from the world and mix it with something else.”

The restaurant is located at 101 E. Center St. in Kalispell and is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information, find Kiska’s Southern Kitchen on Facebook or call 406-314-6355.
