Jere R. Gregory, 64

Jere Ramsdell Gregory, 64, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at his home.

He was born April 4, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of George and Shirley (Ramsdell) Gregory. As a child he moved to Oelwein, Iowa, where he lived with his grandparents, Bert and Bernice Ramsdell.

He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1970 and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in education and Master of Science degree in audiology from the University of Northern Iowa in 1983. He worked as an audiologist for Black Hawk Hearing Aid Center in Waterloo, Iowa, before moving to Kalispell where he worked as an anesthesiology assistant for Dr. James Ronald.

An avid golfer, Jere possessed a lifelong passion for playing, teaching and discussing the game with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Maurine; sons, Michael Gregory of Park City, Utah, and Austin (Claire) Gregory of Chicago; daughter, Lauren Gregory, of Long Beach, California; sisters, Sue (James) Ronald of Norwalk, Connecticut, and Andrea (Marc) Hintz of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brothers, Larry Gregory of Cedar Falls and George (Arcie) Gregory of Davenport, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring at a date and location to be determined.
