Carol Jane Culkins, 59

Carol Jane Culkins, 59, of Kalispell, passed away Jan. 13, 2017.

Born to Ernie Falcon and Shirley Culkins in Williston, North Dakota Jan.11, 1958, this is where Carol spent her early childhood and attended school until the fifth grade. Carol then moved to Daily, California. She then moved back to North Dakota in 1970 to live with grandma Culkins. She graduated from Williston High School in 1979 and while there participated in band, basketball and softball.

Carol worked many jobs around town to support her family. Heather Dawn was born in 1984, after which Carol moved her and her little family to Kalispell where she made her home and heart. It was in Kalispell that Chris was born and her grandchildren were born. Though she would visit North Dakota many times over the years, she would never leave Montana. Carol loved camping, hiking, horseshoes, football, NASCAR, billiards, bowling, rodeos, barbecues and family reunions.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as a niece, Angle Knoph.

Carol is survived by her son Christopher Thomas Thurow, and daughter Heather Coughlin, both of Kalispell; grandchildren, Thea Marie Horton, Evan Jacob Horton, Trenton Thomas Riggs and Thane Richard Riggs; son-in-law, Joseph Richard Riggs; adopted daughter, Erin Eacker; adopted granddaughter, Jasmine Horton; sisters, Trish Knoph, Jennifer Olsen, Kimberly Falcon, Stacy Falcon, Nikki Gravos and Amber Jensen; brothers, David Falcon and Andrew Culkins; and mother-in-law, Judy Falcon.

There will be a viewing for Carol from 10 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 27 at Easthaven Baptist Church in Kalispell, with services to follow at 11 a.m.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and crematory is caring for the Culkins family.
