Driver stranded at the car wash

A woman called the Columbia Falls Police Department when her vehicle became stuck in a car wash on Ninth Street West. The woman told police the wash cycle had finished, but the door wouldn’t open to allow her to drive out. The woman also called an employee at the car wash for help, and was eventually able to find a button opening a door that allowed her to back the vehicle out without police assistance.

A caller told the Kalispell Police Department that a shoplifter had gotten into an altercation with store employees on First Avenue East North.

Someone on Commons Way told police there was a suspicious woman walking in, out and around the building, including multiple businesses. She was allegedly asking people for money, but the caller also thought she looked like she had been drinking or using drugs.

A man told police a group of kids was harassing him near Depot Park. The man said he was sleeping in his vehicle when the group allegedly “popped open his door,” causing him to almost fall to the ground.

The manager of some apartments on Liberty Street told police some people who were not supposed to be there had to be “run off.”

An employee at a business on First Avenue West called to report a suspicious man hanging around the building two days in a row. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

A Sunny View Lane resident called police because a suspicious man was seen allegedly looking into parked vehicles nearby.

An employee of a U.S. 93 North gas station called police after a driver took off without paying for the gas. Before police could respond, the employee called back to say the woman had returned to the store to pay for the gas when realizing she left by mistake before paying.

An employee at a U.S. 93 South business called when several people allegedly came into the business after closing and started making threats when asked to leave. Officers counseled the parties involved.

A man called police from an alley off Seventh Avenue East to report seeing a UFO in the sky. Officers were unable to locate anything suspicious or unidentified.

A caller reported barking dogs on Crestview Road. Officers did not find any noisy animals in the area.

A U.S. 93 South business reported a break-in and missing money vault. Another caller found the missing coin box in a nearby ditch. Officers retrieved the money box and took a report.

An employee of a Wisconsin Avenue business called the Whitefish Police Department after discovering his vehicle had been vandalized in the parking lot. The man said a hole had allegedly been drilled into the gas tank.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle fire on U.S. 93 South.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call from someone on U.S. 93 South in Whitefish who reported a wood box had been broken into and bundles of wood stolen.

A Grizzly Way resident in Kalispell called to complain about several dogs barking and running loose around the neighborhood.

A woman in Kalispell called because a man was allegedly sending her harassing messages online. She said she had asked him to stop and had attempted to block the communications, but the man had persisted. Deputies advised her to contact the website directly to file a complaint, but told her to call back if things continued to escalate.
