Delivery driver had a 'ruff' night

A pizza delivery driver called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after getting his car stuck in some snow after a delivery on South Cedar Drive. The driver said he went to one of the nearby residences for assistance, and was allegedly attacked and bitten by three dogs at the residence. Deputies and animal control followed up on the incident.

Someone found a dog “running down the highway” near Glacier Ridge Drive in the West Glacier area. The dog was reportedly a female, tricolored beagle mix, with a purple collar. Deputies took the pup to the county animal shelter.

A woman reported that her purse had been stolen from a U.S. 2 East store in Kalispell. Shortly after the alleged theft, the woman’s bank reported that someone tried to cash a check that was reportedly stolen from the victim.

A business on U.S. 93 North in Kalispell called deputies after a job applicant failed the required pre-employment drug test, and then allegedly would not stop emailing the company with “profane language and harassing messages” after being denied the job. The company was advised to block the suspect’s email address, and to call back if the harassment continued.

An Ohio resident called to report his storage unit on Ninth Street West in Columbia Falls had been broken into. The man couldn’t confirm what, if anything, was missing from the unit since he is in another state.

An arrest was made after a bartender at a Big Mountain Road business in Whitefish was allegedly assaulted. The security guard at the business detained the suspects until deputies arrived.

A Garland Street resident told the Kalispell Police Department that a snowblower had been stolen from his driveway.

An Eighth Avenue West resident reported that someone had attempted to break into the house. The caller said the family hadn’t even been gone an hour when one of the sons arrived home and discovered the window on the rear door of the house had been broken out. There were also reportedly marks on the door jam, but the caller didn’t think anyone had successfully gained access into the house or taken anything. Officers took a report.

Two different homes were reported with open garage doors, one on Lupine Drive and the other on Vista Loop. The homeowners were contacted.

A caller told police she had been charged by a dog on Ponderosa Street while she was out walking her own dog. The woman said it wasn’t the first time there had been an incident involving the same dog.

A woman told police that several medications had been stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in a lot on U.S. 2 West. She said the vehicle had been left unlocked.

A manager of a business on U.S. 93 South reported that someone had cut through a fence and stole some items.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a North Main Street business.

A Beth Road resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department concerned that someone who didn’t belong was at a nearby house. The caller said the neighbor was out of town, but noticed tracks in the driveway, an open door and a light on inside. Officers found that it was someone taking care of the cat while the owner was away.

An employee of a Ninth Street West business called police when a fight between two men allegedly escalated and one of the men pulled out a knife. No injuries were ultimately reported, but an arrest was made.
