Early Independence Day celebrations halted

A caller reported that two people were shooting a gun and that it appeared they had shot a pistol up in the air. Kalispell Police officers determined that the men were lighting off minor fireworks and advised them of the fireworks ordinance.

A dog reportedly crawled under a fence and was sitting on the back porch of a group home. An employee with the home requested that the dog be picked up.

A dark brown pit bull with a white spot was reportedly found with “torn up” paws.

A man was reportedly driving a motorcycle with a 2-year-old riding on the gas tank. The man stated he would figure out an alternative means of travel after he was counseled on careless driving and criminal endgangermant statutes.

A caller reported that her side mirror had been hit off her vehicle while it was parked at her mother’s house.

The manager of a local business called to report a counterfeit $50 bill, though they were unsure of where the bill had come from.

A caller reported that he believed his neighbors were pouring chemicals on his yard because they “did it last year.” He requested an officer come by and help him “figure out his video cameras,” stating that he was sure he had proof.

A driver was allegedly throwing beer cans out of a truck and driving all over the road.

A caller reported that his 15-year-old daughter had been at a party the night before, and that he was concerned there had been alcohol and drugs at the party. He wanted information regarding drug testing.

A caller reported a noise complaint after a motorcyclist was allegedly driving “around and around” the area. Officers were unable to locate any motorcycles in the area, though they did find several generators that were running.

A physical altercation between three people allegedly happened in a parking lot near U.S. 2.

Officers pursued a male suspect who had allegedly jumped bail. The man had reportedly been hiding near First Avenue West.

Whitefish Police officers advised residents on Ridge Crest Court of the fireworks ordinance, though the residents reportedly insisted they were not using fireworks and that this was “police harassment.”
