'Nunsense'

| July 27, 2017 3:00 PM

The Eureka Community Players are bringing “Nunsense” to the Eureka Community Hall.

What do you get when botulism kills 50 nuns in your abbey and you need to raise money for their burial? You put on a show, of course! At least that’s what Sister Mary Regina (Kelly Comstock), Sister Mary Hubert (Nancy Haugan), Sister Robert Ann (Sylvia Moeller), Sister Mary Amnesia (Shelly Moen) and Sister Mary Leo (Tea Lefrancois) decide to do when they get into financial trouble in this lively, hilarious musical that draws the audience into the crazy fun.

“Nunsense” will be performed Friday, Aug. 4, Saturday, Aug. 5 and Sunday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m., with 3 p.m. matinee shows on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $8 and there will be refreshments available.

John and Sharon LaBonty are directing the show, with Nikki Meyer directing the music and playing piano, joined by Emerson Roberts on percussion. LeeAnn Nemec is holding it all together as stage manager.

“Nunsense” is a perfect addition to the Quilt Festival in Eureka the same weekend. Presented by Glacier Bank and produced by Special Arrangement with Samuel French Inc., “Nunsense” will also mark a new beginning for the Eureka Community Hall building. This piece of Eureka history has been the LodgeCraft furniture building for many years, but this show will be the first in its return to a center for arts, gathering and community in Eureka.
