Why did the bear cross the road?

A “smallish” black bear reportedly ran across Armory Road in front of a Whitefish Police officer.

Officers responded to a call about some vehicles parked on Armory Road. The caller thought people were camping in the vehicles, and also believed they were parked on private property. The campers agreed to move along.

A Wedgewood Lane resident was warned about leaving a garbage can out.

A wallet was reportedly found on Spokane Avenue and turned in to police.

Someone called from Central Avenue about an allegedly intoxicated pedestrian. The possibly inebriated man was reportedly falling over and didn’t know where he was staying.

A Third Avenue East resident told the Columbia Falls Police Department that there were several checks missing from her mailbox, and a package she was expecting to arrive had not been delivered. She wanted to report the missing items in case it turned out to be theft.

Someone on Eighth Avenue East North reported that a vehicle’s tire had been slashed.

A caller reported a man and woman in the parking lot of a business on Ninth Street West “causing a problem.” An argument involving a fish sandwich had reportedly taken place and then escalated.

A caller told police she witnessed an employee of a Ninth Street West business sell beer to underage kids.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on Helena Flats Road.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of an outdoor gas odor on Eighth Street West.
