Robert Lanfear Jr., 70

| June 17, 2017 8:52 PM

Robert Lanfear Jr. “was sent to reside with our Lord” on Monday, June 12, 2017.

Robert was born in Kalispell to June (Auclaire) and Robert Lanfear Sr. on Aug. 4, 1946. He attended grade school in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead High School where he then moved on to serve in the National Guard.

He then pursued his passion in helping people and attended the Police Academy in Bozeman. In 1974 he proudly assumed a position in the Kalispell Police Department and remained in their service for 26 years. During those years of service his selfless dedication to help everyone earned him many friends, lasting community relationships and the ability to influence many lives.

After retiring from the Kalispell Police Department he continued his relationship with the community by establishing Lanfear’s Pro Painting. Lanfear’s Pro Painting became a staple in the construction community which provided immaculate home finishes and honest business relationships.

Robert also had an incredible passion for family and the outdoors. His biggest joys in life were hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was thought of and will be remembered as a modern-day John Wayne. His sense of humor and laugh would warm even the coldest of days.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Bergmann; his kids, Jeremy Lanfear, Jeoff Lanfear, Stephanie Lanfear-Frost, and Gwendolyn Lanfear; seven grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Gina Owen, Reggie Lanfear, Bobby Lanfear, Cindy Hoover, Cathy, Christie Youmans, Terry Hill, and Lisa Hill.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother June, sister Connie Lanfear, and brother Robin Hill.

Robert will be remembered by those who loved him at 1 p.m. on Friday June 23, at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Expo Building.
