The Collage Gallery in Bigfork’s newest exhibition, “Wild Things, Five Artists’ Visions of Montana Wilderness,” opens with a reception Friday, June 30 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The exhibit features the art of Asha MacDonald, Tina Milisavljevich, Nicholas Oberling, Lee Proctor and Robin Sorg.

In this show, compelling and evocative personal interpretations of the mysteries and possibilities of Montana’s wilderness are on display.

MacDonald, from Missoula, paints large, ethereal mountain scenes she finds hidden in the depths of the forest and her imagination. Milisavljevich, of Kalispell, takes an equally imaginative and innovative approach, using various found pieces of driftwood, metal and detritus to create believable but wild sculptures of horses, bears and other Montana creatures. Oberling, an artist and educator from Hungry Horse, makes paintings in a more serene and realistic style. Glass sculptor Proctor presents totems of fantasy birds and animals found mostly in his imagination. His large glass sculptures and colorful vases and bowls have been a staple in Collage’s continuing exhibitions. Sorg draws and paints iconic figures from Native American history as well as loose and colorful nature studies of birds and animals.

The Collage Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. It is located at 573 Electric Ave. in downtown Bigfork.
