Music lovers are invited to trek to Rebecca Farm for the Glacier Symphony’s annual Summer Pops concerts, Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8.

This year’s concert theme is “Drive-In Music” and maestro John Zoltek will cue the orchestra each night at 7:30 p.m. for a concert featuring popular movie music favorites like “Star Wars,” ET: the Extra Terrestrial,” “Hook” and a special tribute to Bugs Bunny. Zoltek will also mix in some music from “The Pink Panther” plus music from popular Westerns, along with classical tunes by Brahms, Grieg, Rossini and Offenbach. The show will finish with a patriotic encore.

Audience members are encouraged to bring in a picnic dinner for the show and come dressed in costume. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and entry is by the carload at $30 in advance or $40 on the day of the concert. This year patrons are also invited to take advantage of the new west side bike path system in Kalispell and bike in for $5 per entry. Low-backed lawn furniture and blankets will be allowed, but not dogs or barbecue grills . The event will be held rain or shine with large tents available in case of inclement weather.

Concert-goers can also reserve a picnic table for eight for $200, located near the stage or under tents and out of the elements. Family-sized tables situated a bit farther from the stage are available for $100. Vendors will offer ice cream, barbecue fare, gourmet foods and popcorn, and wine, beer, pop and water will also be available for purchase.

Car passes can be purchased at the gate or in advance by calling the Glacier Symphony and Chorale box office at 406- 407-7000. Passes are also being sold online at www.gscmusic.org.

Rebecca Farm is located at 1010 West Spring Creek Road. The farm is named after Rebecca Broussard, who passed away in 2010 from cancer, and hosts an annual equestrian competition, The Event, each summer, in addition to the summer pops concerts. For more information, visit www.rebeccafarm.org.
