Allyn Ward Sheldon, 81

Allyn Ward Sheldon, 81, passed away Feb. 1, 2017, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Wenatchee, Washington, July 22, 1935, to Mary and Frank Sheldon. Mary died soon after and Frank married Harriet Tabor. Later two sisters, Billie and Beverly, were added to the family.

After high school graduation at Omak, Washington, Allyn worked a summer as a fire lookout on the Okanogan National Forest. He then worked as a lineman for Bell Telephone until being zapped by a high voltage line.

He was in the Washington National Guard Reserves for 31 years and full time National Guard for 11 years, then transferred to the National Park Service at Yellowstone National Park. He also served at Crater Lake and for 16 years at Grand Teton National Park at Colter Bay and Moose. In 2000 he retired to Lakeside.

Allyn is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kristine, his daughter, Tammy Watkins (Tim), and his son, Mike Sheldon (Donna), both of Omak, and his son Nick Sheldon (Beth) and grandsons Nicholas and Spencer of Kalispell. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jenny Tate (Jeff), Missy Barnett (Jeremy), David Watkins (Missy), Tara Massey, Mike Sheldon Jr. (Donna), Miranda Sheldon, Kyle Sheldon, Kaylen Sheldon and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Randy.
