Black bear makes a house call
An Edgewood Place resident called the Whitefish Police Department after a black bear wandered onto the porch. The caller said the bruin didn’t stay long before heading to the neighbor’s house.
A man said the back tires of his truck had been slashed while parked overnight on Karrow Avenue. He also said the suspect or suspects were hiding across the street in a tree. The responding officer took note of the flat tires, but upon inspecting the trees found no evidence that anyone had been recently hiding there.
A Fifth Avenue West resident told the Kalispell Police Department that some kids were “hitting snowballs over the fence.”
A bike was reported stolen from Grandview Drive.
Someone reportedly threw an egg at a car’s windshield in the area of First Avenue West and 10th Street West. Officers were unable to locate any suspects.
A man was reportedly harassing female passers-by in a parking lot off North Main Street. Officers told the man to move along.
A man told the Columbia Falls Police Department that his pistol had either been lost or stolen while at a shooting range on Parker Hill Road. The man was able to give a detailed description to police, and also planned to post fliers at the range.
