Man takes advantage of sunshine

A caller asked the Kalispell Police Department to check on a man who appeared to be “passed out in the grass” on Third Avenue East. Officers found that the man was fine; he was just taking a nap in the sun.

A fight involving six women was reported on Fourth Avenue West. All the suspects were gone by the time officers arrived.

A Harrison Boulevard resident called to complain about a barking dog in a nearby yard. Officers reported that the dog was inside by the time they arrived.

Someone reportedly witnessed a Kindle being thrown from the window of a moving vehicle on South Meridian, and took the device to the police station. Officers were able to contact the device’s owner, who said he had left it on the hood of the vehicle by mistake when he began driving.

A Fifth Avenue East North resident called about someone disturbing the peace by allegedly bouncing a basketball repeatedly off a backboard and disturbing the neighbors. The complaint was canceled when it began raining and the suspect went inside.

An officer stopped to assist with a vehicle that had run out of gas on North Meridian Road.

A husky mix puppy with a red collar was reportedly found on Eighth Avenue West. The dog did not have tags or a chip, and was taken to the Flathead County Animal Shelter.

Police took a couple of calls about different traffic lights being out on North Meridian Road. The electric company was contacted to check out the problem.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a stolen vehicle off U.S. 2 East.

A Twin Bridges Road resident in Whitefish called because a neighbor was allegedly firing a gun at something.

A Smith Lake Road resident in Kalispell called about people shooting from a vehicle nearby. Deputies were unable to locate the suspects.

A cow was reportedly loose on Birch Grove Road in Kalispell. Deputies weren’t able to locate the animal.

A Moore Ranch Road resident in Marion reported shots being fired from a vehicle onto his property. Deputies made contact with the suspect, who was reportedly shooting gophers in the area. He was advised of the properties in the area.

A bike rider who was riding in the roadway on U.S. 2 East was counseled on where to ride his bike safely.

A Sunset Drive residence was reported for having very loud music. Deputies weren’t able to confirm the complaint.

A Spring Prairie Road resident in Whitefish reported a mountain lion roaming her property. Deputies found no evidence of a large cat in the area.

Deputies responded to reports of a fuel spill on Glacier Airport Road.

A caller told the Whitefish Police Department that there were three small dogs running loose in the road on West Seventh Street. Officers were unable to locate the gang.

A large black lab was reportedly running around on Dakota Avenue, but was also not found by officers.

Columbia Falls Police responded to reports of loud music at a residence on Martha Road. The residents agreed to turn down the TV.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to reports of a burnpile on West Reserve Drive.

The Big Mountain Fire Department responded to reports of an outside gas odor on Big Mountain Road and Wood Run Drive.
