Carcass found in broken freezer

Someone reported smelling a foul odor coming from a trailer on Spencer Road while going door to door for a fundraiser. The person made the report to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office out of fear that there may be a dead body inside. Upon investigation, authorities did discover a body, but it was that of a butchered deer in a freezer that had quit working.

A man reported being bitten by a stray dog near Granite Creek Lot. The man said the bite broke the skin but did not want medical attention.

An entire tub of mail went missing after someone allegedly broke the lock on a large mailbox on Somers Road and took the whole box inside. The reporting person told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office the same thing happened recently at the Elmo Post Office.

Suspected drug activity was reported in a house on Jellison Road.

Two people were reported for allegedly stealing a safe and a wallet from a home on Mountain View Drive.

A man reported camping equipment and other items stolen from his storage unit on Riverside Drive. The man said he found a wallet on the property possibly belonging to the suspect.

Two huskies were found on Third Avenue East and taken to the local animal shelter to await their owner.

A woman claimed she was pepper-sprayed, choked and robbed by another woman at a casino on U.S. 2 West.

A concerned citizen who tasked himself with keeping track of the city’s garbage can violations called the Whitefish Police to report violations on Crestwood Drive and Nature Trial.

Two black bears were seen rummaging through garbage cans on Armory Road.

A biker on a “crotch-rocket” was reported for weaving in and out of a line of traffic on East Eighth Street. The reporting person said its rider was behaving obnoxiously and nearly hit several vehicles.

A mother reported a group of kids for playing loud profane music from their radio at a skate park while younger kids were trying to skate.

A man reported his dog stolen from Wisconsin Avenue after returning home to find the dog missing and its chain lying in the yard.
