Students featured at Crosstown Guitar Night

| November 2, 2017 1:14 PM

The bi-annual Crosstown Guitar Night will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Flathead High School Performance Hall. There is no charge for admission, and the show is appropriate for all ages.

The evening will feature local teenage guitar students performing selections that reflect their interests and current youth culture. Guitar instructor Steve Eckels will begin the night with a featured number. The evening will continue with students from the ninth through 12th grades singing and playing.

Following the student performances, there will be a special appearance by a distinguished alumna from School District No. 5 guitar program: Rheannon attended guitar classes from 2004-2006, before graduating from Flathead High School. She was the winner of the Texaco Country Music Showdown and has completed several recordings, most recently in Nashville, Tennessee, with studio professionals backing her up. Rheannon is a faith-based singer-songwriter.

The evening will conclude with a group sing-along dedicated to Bob Dylan.
