Glenn 'Lucky' Manning, 70

| October 18, 2017 8:45 PM

Glenn “Lucky” Manning passed on Sept. 29, 2017, at Heritage Place.

He was born to Kenneth and Margaret Manning on June 27, 1947.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Manning, of Kalispell; his brothers, Gary (Sally) Manning of St. George Utah, Steve (Sharon) Manning of Dayton, and his sister, Susan (John) Sullivan of Kalispell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Manning, in 2014 and his grandparents, Edley and Viola Moon and Melvin and Rose Manning.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Marlene Garrison of Missoula, Don Manning, MaryAnn (Mike) Manning, and Jeannie (Don) Nelson, Myrtle Geis, Helen (AI) Baird, and Edley (Joyce) Moon, all of Kalispell, and Kathy (Paul) Nockleby of St. Paul, Minnesota; and many cousins and nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Flathead High School in 1965, Lucky moved to Provo, Utah, where he worked in the landscaping and nursery business. Later on, he moved back to the Flathead Valley.

Lucky loved the out of doors and the pure enjoyment of nature. This was reflected in the many hours he would spend in the woods while growing up. He was a lover of all things green and growing. Being an avid gardener, he could make anything grow. He also enjoyed learning about geography, pouring over atlases. In his younger years he was a talented and creative piano player.

Lucky was especially known for his kindness and goodness to all. He went out of his way to make others feel welcome. Many have been on the receiving end of his generosity and friendly smile. And his quick wit and good sense of humor brought many laughs at just the right moment. Rarely did we hear him complain even in his last days when his pain was the greatest.

He will be missed by many; our love extends to him at his new address.

“Thank you, gracious Lord, that he is in your comfort and care.”
