Closure orders lifted on Kootenai Forest

| October 23, 2017 8:45 PM

Fire closure orders within the vicinity of the West Fork, Moose Peak and Cub Creek fires of Northwest Montana recently were rescinded by Kootenai Forest Supervisor Christopher Savage.

However, closure orders are active and remain in place for Caribou, Gibralter Ridge, and Weasel fires due to recent fire activity.

The closed trails are delineated in each Closure Order.

All fire line rehabilitation operations impacting public safety have been completed. With the onset of winter and wind events, people are advised to use caution when visiting the land impacted in any fire areas on the forest.

Large and small trees will continue to fall and impede travel. Be prepared to saw or chop your way through the roads when venturing out during the hunting season and beyond.
