Jean Elizabeth Lehner, 90

| October 24, 2017 12:53 PM

Jean Elizabeth Lehner passed away on Oct. 17, 2017.

She was born on Nov. 8, 1926, in San Francisco.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lehner; husband, William Lehner; and her parents, Herbert and Vivian Greiner.

She is survived by two sons, James, and wife Deanne; Gregory, and wife Karen; two granddaughters, Christina, and husband Mike; and Shannon, and husband, Scott; three great-granddaughters, Jaycie, Rosalie and Grace; and one great-grandson, William.

Jean loved nature and the outdoors, and enjoyed a wide variety of outdoor activities. Swimming, hiking, skiing, motorcycle riding and simply watching and admiring wildlife were some of her favorites. Both she and her beloved husband “Willie” had hiked several wilderness areas, national parks, and even hiked the Grand Canyon twice. She loved all wildlife but her favorite, by far, were wolves.

Her life’s career was focused on raising her family as a stay-at-home mom, but when it was time for sons to go to college, she got a job and helped put them through school. Jean had a very full life and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jean did not want a funeral but wanted to join her husband and have their ashes scattered “somewhere beautiful and in the wild.”
