Tickets available for Marine Corps Ball

The Flathead Marines 2017 Marine Corps Ball will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell.

This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

Ticket prices are $45 each, which includes the ceremony, dining and dancing. Only 350 tickets were printed. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday, Nov. 3.

A social hour starts at 4:30 p.m., with the ceremony at 5:30 p.m..

There will be two cash bars and two on-site kegs. Roy Wilhelm and the Ashley Creek Ramblers will provide music. The evening also includes a silent auction and door prizes.

Guests who bring a new unwrapped toy with a $10-plus value for Toys for Tots will receive an entry into a prize drawing.

The Flathead Marines is a local 501(3)(c) created and managed by Marine veterans dedicated to helping Marines, veteran groups and veterans in the Flathead Valley. Proceeds go to local veterans and local veterans groups.

Gun raffle winners announced

Winners of the gun raffle conducted by the Columbia Falls Historical Society were announced at the fall banquet Oct. 14 at the Country Kitchen at the Flathead County Fairgrounds.

Winners were Kelly Toman, Ruger 10/22; Tyrone Wilson, Ruger American .308; Orlyn Jorgenson, Smith and Wesson Victory .22 pistol; Nathan Geiger, Mossberg 12 gauge; Jennee Taylor, Marlin .22; and Mandi Baldwin, Ruger LCP.380 pistol.

Other gifts, prizes and silent auction items were awarded throughout the evening.

The society would like to thank the merchants who generously contributed items. All of the evening’s proceeds go towards the historical society’s goal of obtaining a museum for the Columbia Falls area.
