Whitefish boys, C-Falls girls net soccer victories

COLUMBIA FALLS — Ian Lacey, Casey Schneider and Noah Romagnuolo scored second-half goals to push Whitefish past Columbia Falls 3-0 in a Northern A boys soccer match on Tuesday evening at Flip Darling Field.

Whitefish also won the earlier meeting 3-2.

Columbia Falls (2-3 league) outshot Whitefish on goal 18-9, but failed to capitalize.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Columbia Falls (5-1-1 overall, 3-1-1) tallied three goals in the second half, two by Lakia Hill during a seven-minute stretch, to pull away from Whitefish for the Northern A victory.

Josie Windauer had the other second-half goal for the Wildkats.

Olivia Pothoff scored both goals for Whitefish (4-1 league) with Anna Cook and Thea Vrentas assisting.

Whitefish won the first meeting between the two rivals, 2-1.

Alma Patrick scored on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute to lift Stillwater Christian (5-2-0 overall) to a nonconference victory over visiting Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

The kick came after a foul in the box by Hannah Beazer.

Stillwater outshot Bonners Ferry on goal 27-2.

Whitefish JV had just one corner kick, but capitalized as Thea Vrentas scored off it at 1:13 to give the Bulldogs the victory at Stillwater Christian School on Monday.
