Woman's life could be episode of 'Stranger Things'

A woman advised the Kalispell Police Department there were allegedly “some strange happenings,” going on in her apartment complex” after experiencing a series of incidents, the most recent being a man who “started running at her full speed” while she was out walking her dog. He supposedly stopped when he got closer, saying he thought she was someone else. She added to her report that her mail was stolen a few days ago, a man banged on her door a couple weeks ago, and a month ago, her neighbor supposedly told her someone was watching her through the windows.

A woman allegedly told police she wanted to go to jail because she went to hit her husband with a fly swatter and accidentally hit her child. Her husband was reportedly trying to calm her down and didn’t think the child was hit at all. Both parties were counseled and planned to “work on their relationship.”

Someone called police out of concern for the safety of a man and child they reportedly saw out on the ice at Woodland Park pond despite a sign that read, “stay off the ice.” The caller wanted an officer to tell them to get off the ice, but called back to report the pair had left.

A man believed he may have uncovered a possible “theft ring” after seeing at least three vehicles, three men and “pedal bikes” by a motor home parked on the west end of the mall. Officers didn’t see anyone in or around the motor home.

A woman called police to report an unknown person was sending her text messages about a “drug deal gone wrong” and called her looking for another woman. The person was reportedly upset about being “ripped off for a gram of dope.”

An 8-year-old called police reportedly because he couldn’t find his dad, who went for a run and hadn’t come back. The boy said his dad left 20 minutes ago to run around the neighborhood and would usually be back by now. Not long after dad returned home safe and sound.

A woman driving a silver SUV was purportedly following a man so closely in an attempt to pass him that he could not see, or get, their license plate information.

A gun was reported stolen from a home.

A man walking on Main Street appeared to someone to be intoxicated because he was reportedly “ranting and raving” and “flipping off” people, including an officer on a traffic stop. The person wanted police to check on the man, which they did on First Avenue East. He planned to go home.

A woman likely received a phone call from a scammer who claimed he was from the FBI and instructed her to put $950 on two credit cards and then gave him the card numbers.

A confrontational woman was told she couldn’t return to Kidsports because she was allegedly “stealing power” after a passerby saw her underneath a concession awning with “stuff all spread out” including a cook stove and large German shepherd. She begrudgingly collected her belongings and left the park.
