Elsie 'Louise' Jimmerson, 89

Elsie “Louise” Jimmerson, 89, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully on Dec. 8, 2019, with her family by her side.

Louise was the youngest of seven, born on Jan. 6, 1930, in Manvel, North Dakota, to Herbert and Elsie Louisa Lund. Her family then moved to central Montana, and she was adopted at age 6 by Clista and John Parker of Great Falls, following the death of her parents. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1948 and attended Park College in Parkville, Missouri, where she studied youth ministry. In 1950, Louise married Roy Jimmerson and together they farmed in central Montana before settling down in Columbia Falls in 1957.

Louise was an expert gardener who loved to fish and spend time outdoors. She was service-minded and compassionate, working as a hospice volunteer for 11 years. Affectionately called “Grandma Lou” by her 10 grandchildren, she always made holidays and family gatherings special events full of jokes, food, games and laughter.

Louise is survived by her husband of 69 years, Roy Jimm-erson; their five children, Dan Jimmerson and his wife Connie; Rebecca Bodmer and her husband Larry; Allen Jimmerson and his wife Colleen; Mark Jimmerson and his wife Jean; Janet Konecky and her husband Curtis; and their 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, Mindy and Toby Banks, Nat and April Bodmer (Maya, Rachel, Micah, Claire); Jessica and Kyle Formhals (Kaitlyn); SaeRom and Mark Chakoian; Carrie Albrite and Cameron Bradley (Nora); Seth and Jennifer Konecky (Colton, Kayden); Jared and Madison Niermeyer-Jimmerson; Jael Konecky; Patrick Jimmerson; Lera Jimmerson.

A reception was held at Buffalo Hill Terrace on Dec.14 following a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery.
