Diana May Buckley, 51

Diana May Buckley, 51, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019 after a lengthy Illness, at her home in Whitefish with her family by her side. Diane was born on April 14, 1968 in Puyallup, Washington, to Duane and Arlee (Payne) Shipman. Diana attended school in Helena and graduated from Helena High School.

Diana served in The U.S Navy. She married James Buckley in 1992 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They celebrated 27 years together. Diana had many work experiences including many positions with the State of Montana. Most recently she worked at the Iron Horse Golf Club. Diana loved spending time with her family. Her three boys and Jim were the world to her. She especially found joy in fishing Stillwater Lake, whether by boat, from the bank or through the ice. Diana could be found with a fish on the end of her line and enjoying the peace being outdoors brought her.

Diana was preceded in death by her father Duane Shipman. She is survived by her husband James Buckley, children Duane James Buckley of Kalispell, James Buckley of Missoula, Nathan Buckley of Whitefish, stepdaughter Jami Buckley of Billings, mother Arlee Shipman of Big Sky, and brothers Dan Shipman of Helena and Dustin (Kasia) Shipman of Big Sky. There will be a Celebration of Life on Dec. 29, 2019 at the Stillwater Bar and Grill, U.S. 6699 Highway 93. The family asks donation be made to Wings Regional Cancer Support Center., P.O.
