Smoke doesn't always mean fire

A caller told the Columbia Falls Police Department that smoke alarms were going off and there was an odor of an electrical burn with smoke in the kids’ rooms. The person said there was dust in the baseboard heater and was inside looking for the fire. She was told to go outside and wait. Another caller reported smoke coming from the downstairs apartment and the smoke detector was going off. Apparently a pan was left on the stove, but there was no fire.

Someone said the music was too loud at the bowling alley.

Inside a vacation rental property, someone found a white bag with a receipt in it from the credit card holder as well as three pouches of marijuana and one small glass container with a light brown, chalky substance.

A man who recently bought a vehicle called to see if he could legally tow it with another vehicle because the one he just purchased wasn’t registered.

Someone was upset because no law enforcement had shown up after he called to report that three or four people with warrants were working on a white Camaro. The caller said the car was hidden during the day and they were working on it at night. When an officer called back, no one answered and the voice mail wasn’t set up.

A caller said someone dumped a Christmas tree in the eastbound lane of U.S. 2 near a body shop. The caller thought one person could move the tree, but still described it as big.

Someone called to see if an officer could move a dead deer and some debris off the road in front of the car lot.
