Man attempts to prevent fire with fire
Someone told Flathead County Sheriff’s Office they witnessed someone light a tree on fire on North Fork Road about 12 miles after the pavement ends. The tree was reportedly engulfed in flames. The man who started the fire allegedly said it was a dead tree and he did it for fire control.
A Sunrise Drive resident in Kalispell was concerned about a raccoon with a trap allegedly stuck on its foot. She told deputies she sees it on her property in the evenings. She was advised the information would be passed on to Fish and Game.
A Kalispell woman told deputies about her “gut feeling” that a horse wasn’t doing well. Officers checked on two horses that appeared healthy and the cruelty complaint was deemed unfounded.
A man plowing his driveway on Yeoman Hall Road in Kalispell alleged a county plow didn’t slow down when it came within 15 feet of hitting him. He was told to lodge a complaint with the road department.
A man walking on U.S. 2 Kalispell said he wanted to report his allegedly drunk girlfriend was driving toward Columbia Falls then said “never mind, I don’t want to get anyone in trouble,” and hung up.
Dispatchers could hear a woman using expletives on U.S. 35 in Kalispell before the line disconnected. Another call came and a male — possibly involved in the earlier fight — was heard screaming and possibly throwing items out of his apartment. The man reportedly said he was going to blow everyone up. Parties were counseled.
A man told officers he purportedly got into an argument with someone on Willow Glen Drive in Kalispell who picked up a lamp and hit him in the shoulder, on which he had surgery weeks ago. He wanted officers to contact him prior to responding to the location.
Kalispell Police Department responded to a report of a neighbor allegedly “raging on people,” and throwing things on Second Avenue West.
Someone wanted to file “kidnapping” charges on an agency that allegedly “took her kids without a warrant or anything.”
Two to three 11-year-olds were reportedly harassing a grandmother’s granddaughter by calling about 20 times in one day. She claimed it was over her not wanting her granddaughter playing with one girl in particular.
A man staying in the police department lobby reported another man also staying there had allegedly slammed the door on him and wanted to fight him.
Someone wanted police to check on the welfare of a 12-year-old who was reportedly not wearing gloves, a coat or hat and tried to give her a ride to the middle school. Officers contacted the girl who said she was OK and was indeed walking to school.
Columbia Falls Police Department received a phone call from Eighth Avenue about kids reportedly playing in the road and running in front of buses passing through the intersection. Police were unable to locate kids in the area.
Someone reportedly wasn’t making sense, but their questions were answered. The person allegedly talked about a woman’s volatile brother and “he ruined her life through the Trump administration.”
A verbal disturbance was reported at a duplex when someone heard a woman screaming, things being thrown around and a little girl running around. Both parties agreed to quiet down and go to bed.
A woman on Diane Road told police her son reportedly saw someone trying to get into a residence through the sliding-glass door and then got into a white car “with lots of dings” and left.
