The city of Whitefish is on track to annex 16 properties and an adjacent road along Park Knoll Lane. The proposed rezoning of those parcels is the focus of a Whitefish Planning Board public hearing on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Whitefish is in the process of annexing 22 acres of contiguous land on the city’s southern edge, including Park Knoll Estates, into the city. In 1989 the Park Knoll Water Association asked the city to extend water service to the subdivision, located on Whitefish’s south side, west of U.S. 93. The city agreed to extend water to the development, conditioned on property owners waiving their right to protest annexation at the point when Park Knoll became contiguous to city limits.

The public hearing begins at 6 p.m. at Whitefish City Hall, 418 E. Second St.

The Whitefish City Council is scheduled to vote on the annexation proposal at its Feb. 4 meeting.
