Finalists announced for coaching awards

In speech and debate, every point counts.

Over the weekend, Glacier High School slipped past Flathead High School to win the Class AA state speech and debate championship title.

Glacier amassed 172.5 overall points. State runner-up, Flathead, earned 167 points. Bozeman placed third with 109.5 points.

Finalists for coach of the year awards were also announced at the tournament held at Flathead High School. The Steve Reardon Coach of the Year finalists are Shannon O’Donnell of Flathead, Kerry Gruinzenga of Billings Skyview and Myra Nurre of Billings West.

The Anne Sullivan Debate Coach of the Year finalists include: Chris Adamcyk of Glacier, Doni Dilworth of Flathead and

Josh Munro of Glacier.
