Close call for Whitefish golf-cart driver

A speeding Saturn on Baker Avenue nearly ran over a person driving a golf cart, according to the Whitefish Police Department logs. The caller said he had to go into the ditch to avoid becoming a victim.

A person returning home after a shift at the hospital reported that someone had broken a window on her property.

Someone stopped into the Columbia Falls Police Department to report that a pole bearing his United States flag was stuck in the ground. The call was referred to the fire department.

A caller who fell under the bridge and initially couldn’t get up was attempting to catch her dog. She thought she might have broken a rib, but in the end, she was OK and “Fido” returned home.

Someone said the scoreboard hadn’t been turned off and didn’t find the switches to turn it off. But eventually, the caller reported getting it shut down.
