Marie Ann Foglio Muggerud, 72

| March 3, 2019 4:00 AM

Marie Ann Foglio Muggerud, 72, of Billings, formerly of Bigfork, and Bell Gardens, California, died peacefully in her sleep on Feb. 16, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, with her son by her side.

Marie was born to Francis and Dominick Foglio on Aug. 13, 1946, in Naples, Italy. She immigrated to the United States when she was 5 years old and grew up in Flushing, Queens, New York.

She was predeceased by her parents, and her late husband, Dallas Muggerud, whom she loved and missed until the day she died. She and Dallas owned and operated the Saddle Tramp Saloon in Bell Gardens, which they sold when their son built their dream home in Bigfork. She made many close friends in Bigfork, with whom she remained in constant contact.

Marie’s pride and joy were her son, Lawrence “DJ Muggs” Muggerud and her granddaughter, Francisca “Frankie” Muggerud. She helped raised Frankie when she was a little girl and was very proud of their successful lives. Marie was an amazing cook and showed her love by cooking traditional Italian meals for her family and friends. She was also an avid sports fan who loved her NBA basketball. She attended many Lakers games at the Staples Center and recorded all the NBA games when they were televised.

Survivors include her son, Larry; granddaughter, Frankie; her beloved siblings, Tina, Carlo, Johnny (Phylis), Teresa (Cisco), Lisa; her aunt, Anna and uncle, Carmine; and her sisters-in-law, Paulette, Micki, Pam and Marla; many nieces and nephews; her close friends Debbie, Toni and Jean; and her little dogs, Belle and Little Pup. Marie’s families on both sides are extremely large. She loved all of us — there are simply too many of us to name.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held this summer (or spring) in Billings, Bigfork and New York. Marie’s ashes will be scattered according to her wishes in Bigfork and New York. We will publish the date, time and location on Marie’s Facebook page and do our best to let all who wish to attend know the details.
