“Sleeping Beauty” is one of the most famous ballets, with music by Russian composer Tchaikovsky, who also composed “Nutcracker” and “Swan Lake.”

The show features the choreography of director Marisa Roth, awe-inspiring costumes and the company’s gifted dancers. Principal dancer is Regan Tintzman, a senior at Whitefish High School. Chicago professional guest artist Malachi Squires (a Northwest Ballet Company alumnus) will dance the part of the Prince.

“We are so ecstatic to offer this to our community as it’s not often that a male professional ballet dancer is seen performing in our valley, or the surrounding areas,” Roth said.

A classic story and timeless favorite, “Sleeping Beauty” is the stuff of childhood dreams.

“We know how much our audiences adore the Northwest Ballet’s “Nutcracker” and they’ll be just as enchanted with this upcoming Company production!” Roth said.

Principal dancer Tintzman offered her thoughts regarding her last show with the company. From the late nights in rehearsals dancing and spending time with her ballet friends, she’s treasuring her last few weeks with her company.

“Everyone’s always saying to live in the moment and enjoy every minute, and I am realizing that now,” Tintzman said. “The Northwest Ballet School has given me some of my best friendships through this family that Miss Marisa has created.”
