Noisy device prompts headaches

| August 22, 2020 1:00 AM

Some neighbors thought there was an “ultrasonic” dog barking device in a nearby residence that was causing them to get headaches. One of the people who had allegedly developed a headache greeted Kalispell Police Department officers with “vulgar language, demanding something be done.” It was determined this was a civil issue and the neighbors were advised to contact a lawyer.

A woman was worried about a panhandler possibly harassing a worker at a snow-cone stand. She described the panhandler as a person with “dark tan skin,” “wearing a shirt as a hat” who looked “like he [was] on something.” However, officers spoke with the person working at the stand and she said she “had no problem” with the panhandler.

A man in a park said he saw a woman “naked, l[y]ing on the ground, rolling around and touching herself.” An officer approached her and she explained she wasn’t naked, but was actually wearing a swim suit. She was nonetheless asked to move along.

A driver had his “fictitious” license plates seized.

A parent said their teenage daughter was “acting irrational” and walking away from her parent. Officers counseled the daughter and the parent.

A caller reported a reckless driver of a truck in North Kalispell, but officers accidentally tracked down a responsible driver of a vehicle that matched the same description the caller had given them.

Another caller thought a driver was under the influence of drugs with two children in her vehicle, but she gave three different descriptions of the vehicle she thought the intoxicated woman was driving.

A woman became upset when she learned her husband had cheated on her with her “lifelong friend.” She apparently threw her cellphone out of her car window and started driving erratically and making suicidal statements. She eventually calmed down and her young children were left in her husband’s care.

A woman saw a rental posted online, but she drove past the property and saw a “for sale” sign in front of the supposed rental. She reported the scam to the Realtor and KPD.

Someone who doesn’t own a cellphone received a call from an “unavailable number,” and although the call recipient didn’t pick up the phone, he thought it might have been a “threatening call.”

A suspicious vehicle appeared on someone’s private property, and the vehicle’s occupants told an officer they were “mourning the loss of a loved one.”

A couple of juveniles apparently caused a scene by driving erratically and throwing ice cream out a car window. They were counseled and picked up their trash.
