Ronald Wilson Lockhart, 83

Ronald Wilson Lockhart, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Aug.15, 2020, from heart failure in his home in Murrieta, California.

He was born March 3,1937, in Kalispell. He was the son of Herbert and Alcinda Lockhart.

His brothers Dean and Larry and sister Beverly preceded him in death.

He attended Demersville school and Flathead County High School. During his high school years he was the football quarterback and was awarded “All State Quarterback First Team Honorable Mention 1954.” His favorite sport was the javelin which he excelled at. He was also on the basketball team. He was in A Cappella choir, student council, key club and, his favorite, the Bible Club. He was inducted into the Flathead Hall of Fame when he was awarded The Koford Honor Award for Outstanding Student in Character, Scholarship, Athletics & Inspiration 1954-1955. This was his most treasured award.

He continued to play football, basketball and throw the javelin at Whitworth College in Spokane. He graduated in 1959 with a bachelor’s degree in business. He was drafted into the Army and served as a chaplain’s assistant at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

He spent his career in the millwork industry in sales and retired in 2002.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marietta; daughter, Rhonda (Alan); son, Randy (Tracy); and five grandchildren.
