Parents needs help locating trombone

A parent called the Whitefish Police Department to see if anyone had turned in a brass trombone that was lost about 10 days ago. The parent said her son rides the bus and somewhere between the middle school and home, the instrument disappeared. It is in a brown plastic case.

A road sign meant to tell drivers of a very sharp curve in the highway apparently wasn’t noticed when a vehicle took it out. The caller wasn’t there when the sign was run over and part of a bumper was left at the scene.

The machines are taking over and it’s apparent when one phone dialed 911 after a song the owner was playing on her phone reached a certain point. She said it happened earlier in the day.

A man called to report a video on social media showing illegal activities.

A person armed with bear spray was ready when someone tried to break in. But it turned out to be a person trying to return a lost phone to the caller’s roommate.

Someone checked with the police to see if her driver’s license had been turned in after she lost it while walking.

A woman suspected her ex of putting dirt and rocks in her gas tank. A mechanic was checking to see what had happened.

Someone alleged his friends from the methadone clinic stole his medicinal marijuana. He said they returned the following day, stole his Xbox, TV, rings and money.

A woman said two other females were trying to get her into trouble with the law by spreading lies with police.

When the downstairs neighbor was blasting music too loud, the property manager told the caller to call Columbia Falls police. When an officer arrived it had the desired effect of reducing the noise.

Two drunk brothers caused a ruckus at an apartment. One of them reportedly threw a chair at a woman. Officers were able to calm the situation.

A prank involving handcuffs and a couple about to wed caused some consternation with one observer. Fortunately, it was all a misunderstanding.

A group of brazen teens allegedly stole several baskets of alcohol from a business and left in a silver sedan. Officers caught up with the thieves; one was cited and another was sent home with his mother.

An officer had to remove debris, including a new pet carrier, from the road.
