Owl survives run-in with traffic
Someone told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office an owl got stuck in a vehicle’s grill, but the bird lived and was taken to a bird sanctuary.
A house-sitter complained about a neighbor “driving a loud truck.” He also noted there was a small pick-up truck in the area with two young children inside. The house-sitter wanted the information to be logged since there was a break-in in the area two weeks ago.
A caretaker at a park heard people “blasting music” and shooting a gun at a trailhead.
A driver said another driver was “cutting people off” and driving at “high speeds for the weather.”
Someone said his storage unit was broken into shortly after another one of his units was also broken into.
A woman said her mother was refusing to give her mail to her.
A renter reported the former tenants returned to the rental claiming a package had been delivered for them to that address. They apparently became aggressive when the woman told them she hadn’t received the package. She also said the visitors “seemed shady” and tampered with her mail.
A driver saw “black cows all over the road.” The owner was apparently two hours out of town, so the neighbors said they would help round them up. When an officer checked the area he said he didn’t “see any cows out at this time.”
A man’s sister called the FCSO because she believed his girlfriend had trapped him in a vehicle, but law enforcement made contact with the man who said he was fine and didn’t need any assistance.
Someone found paperwork he believed to be stolen outdoors in Lakeside. The FCSO decided to try to dry the documents and return them to their owner.
A man claimed his neighbors stole his firearm, but he couldn’t provide a serial number or prove his ownership of the gun, which he said was given to him by a friend.
A 25-year-old apparently refused to leave his parents’ house or get a job.
A visitor called from a ski resort to report his duffel bag had been stolen out of a hotel. He said he saw “suspicious-looking subjects” take the bag on surveillance footage.
A woman called the police because she “went into [a] store to get propane and couldn’t find anyone.” But then, “an employee walked in,” so the caller disconnected.
