Dunn's free throws lift Eureka

ST. IGNATIUS — Danny Dunn hit a putback layup with four seconds remaining in overtime to give the Eureka Lions (4-2, 2-0) a 48-47 victory Saturday over host St. Ignatius.

Jake Kindel led the Lions with 15 points and Cory Chaney added 10.

Eureka led 26-18 at half and 35-27 going into the fourth period, but Mission’s Zoran LaFrombois hit back-to-back 3-pointers to force overtime. Jedi Christy led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while LaFrombois and Ross McPherson each contributed 10.

The Lions will play host Thursday to Whitefish.

Jordan Wininger scored 17 points and Eli Husted added 13 as the Flathead Valley Homeschool Crusaders outlasted Gallatin Valley 51-46 on Saturday night.

Flathead Valley led 29-22 at half and 36-33 after three quarters.

The Crusaders head to Bozeman next weekend.
