Browning girls edge Wildkats in hoops battle
COLUMBIA FALLS — Columbia Falls couldn’t withstand a late 11-point scoring run by the Browning Lady Indians, losing 59-58 on Tuesday at Columbia Falls High School in Northwestern A basketball.
Leading 58-48 with 2:45 left in the game, the offense went cold as Browning surged.
It was the Wildkats’ first loss of the season.
The Lady Indians outrebounded the Wildkats (7-1 overall, 2-1 conference) 51-30.
Hannah Schweikert had a career night for Columbia Falls, draining eight triples for 26 points. Josie Windauer added eight.
Browning (7-1, 4-0) was led by Tamika Guardipee’s 18 points.

THOMPSON FALLS — Emma Berreth put up 17 points but it wasn’t enough for the Bigfork Valkyries to take down Thompson Falls Blue Hawks in Class B play.
Bigfork led at the half, 19-17.
Thompson Falls was led by Megan Baxter’s 18 points. Elle Baxter added 14.
The Valkyries had one other player in double digit scoring: Ansleigh Edgerton with 14 points.
