- Samantha Bradeen of Libby and Kaitlyn Sassaman of Ronan qualified for the fall semester dean’s list at the University of Jamestown.
- Samantha Shepherd of Whitefish has been named to the dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University.
The following undergraduate students have achieved provost’s honor roll status for the fall 2019 semester at Whitworth University.
- Bigfork — Michael Bedford
- Kalispell — Leif Ericksen, Conner Heil, Elsa Michelsen, Abigail O’Brien, Megan Rediger
- Sarah Perez of Whitefish, senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience, made the dean’s list at Duke University for the fall 2019 semester. Perez graduated from Whitefish High School in 2016.
- Ivy Gwynn and Siera Weber, both of Kalispell, were named to the dean’s list at Pensacola Christian College, for academic achievement during the 2019 fall semester.
- Eric Smith of Kalispell has been named to the Eastern New Mexico University dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester. He graduated Dec. 19.
Montana State Fund recently awarded fifteen Montana students with $4,000 scholarships for higher education. The recipients all have an area of study focused on occupational health and safety or trades and industry. The scholarships are part of the Fund’s Growing a Safer Montana initiative which aims to emphasize the importance of workplace safety to young workers before they enter the workforce. Local recipients who are all attending Flathead Valley Community College include:
- Kalispell — Brian Hollingsworth, industrial machine technology; Vanessa Janckila, welding technology; Hayden Wood, welding technology
- Whitefish — Jon Carlson, electrical technology
The following local individuals were recently appointed to represent the Glacier Country Region of the Tourism Advisory Council by Gov. Steve Bullock:
- Lindzy Brunson of Kalispell — International medical service coordinator for Kalispell Regional Health Care
- Rhonda Fitzgerald of Whitefish — Owner/operator of the Garden Wall Inn
- Pat McGlynn of Kalispell — County department chair for Montana State University Extension
