Karen K. Reynen, 65

| March 29, 2020 1:00 AM

Karen K. Reynen, 65, passed away unexpectedly in her home on March 18, 2020.

Karen was born on June 27, 1954, in Denver, Colorado. From there she moved with her parents to several different countries before returning to the United States. She graduated in 1972 from Chico High School, then obtained her graduate degree in nursing from Chico State University in 1976. Karen became a big sister to Stevyn Menagazzi in 1962, married her beloved husband Peter Reynen in 1978, and gave birth to two daughters, Jennifer (1980) and Kimberly (1982) — all of whom she loved more than anything.

Karen’s success and passion for nursing were evident in both her career as well as her everyday demeanor. She was part of a team of health care professionals that initiated the first high-tech home health care company in the United States. Karen showed compassion, empathy, and kindness to everyone she encountered. In 1999 she and her family moved to Kalispell where she resided until her last breath.

Karen was successful at all she did — an avid skier, flautist, nurse, and mother. Her dimples, laugh, and overall presence brought smiles and comfort to all who knew her. She will be forever missed, forever remembered, and forever loved.

Karen is survived by her husband Peter Reynen; mother Hannie Voyles; sister Stevyn Menaggazi; daughters Jennifer Reynen Rollins and Kimberly Reynen; and many extended family members and friends.

Karen’s celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
