SIDNEY — The road to the State A volleyball title just got a lot tougher for the Columbia Falls Wildkats.

Alyssa Pretty Weasel’s 21 kills led the way as Hardin knocked Columbia Falls from the unbeaten ranks Thursday evening, in five sets.

The Wildkats, 16-1, fell into a loser-out match Friday at 4 p.m. They’ll await the winner of Polson and Ronan, who play at noon today.

Jonna Lind added 16 kills for the Bulldogs (12-4), who won 25-21, 23-25, 20-25, 25-18, 15-10 to advance to tonight’s winner’s bracket semifinal, at 6 p.m.

They’ll play the winner of Thursday’s late match between Glendive and Billings Central.

That’s a prime spot in the bracket and what the Wildkats were shooting for – and missed, despite 22 kills from Mady Hoerner and another 12 from Dillen Hoerner.

Hannah Schweikert had 41 assists and seven kills.

Earlier Thursday the Wildkats swept Havre, while Ronan lost in three sets to Billings Central and Polson lost in four sets to Glendive.
