Exploring the theme of “Power” and calling on the talents of nearly 40 GHS students and five Wolfpack Theatre Company staff as directors, the festival showcases four powerful and unique one-act plays.

“Trifles” by Susan Glaspell, directed by Chris Adamcyk — An investigation begins after a man is found murdered in his bed with a noose around his neck; the only suspect is his wife.

“‘Trifles’ examines the concepts of gender gap and justice,” Adamcyk said. “My AP12 students read this play in class and it struck a chord.”

“Flowers for Algernon” adapted by David Rogers from the classic novel by Daniel Keyes, directed by Greg Adkins — The compelling story of Charlie, a mentally challenged man, and the strange interweaving of his life with Algernon, a mouse whose experimental surgery increases his intelligence four-fold. The operation is also successful on Charlie who, as both approach the peak of their brilliance, show symptoms of regression. The play becomes a race against time.

“Cagebirds” written by David Campton, directed by Ivanna Fritz —

Six prisoners reside in a delicate harmony of isolation, each absorbed in their own petty interests and in placating the "Mistress," until their peace is shattered by the Wild One. This play features an all-female cast.

“Hard Candy” written by Jonathan Rand, directed by Ryan Motley — Job applicants at Banff Enterprises will do anything to claw their way up the corporate ladder. In a fast-paced series of hilarious interviews, they try every trick in the book — from bribery and nepotism to blackmail, seduction and mind control.
