Glacier’s Williams is Western AA soccer player of year

Kenzie Williams of state champion Glacier is the Western AA girls’ Player of the Year, and leads the All-State soccer selections for Class AA in 2020.

Williams was joined on the All-State team by teammates Madison Becker and Emily Cleveland, and three more Wolfpack players — Reagan Brisendine, Taylor Brisendine and Ady Powell — were all-conference.

Taylor Brisendine hit the goal in Glacier’s 1-0 win over Helena High that earned the Wolfpack its first girls’ soccer crown, and it came off a clearing pass from Williams.

Helena had three players selected All-State.

Flathead had one All-State selection: Montana soccer signee Skyleigh Thompson. Thompson led the Western AA in scoring with 17 goals and 37 points; Glacier’s Becker was next with 11 goals and 32 points.

The Bravettes placed Tessa Smith and Lilly Tanko on the all-conference team.

The All-State soccer team for AA boys also included three Glacier players: Diego Mendoza, Eli Mildren and Braden Nitschelm. Teammates Zane Elliott and Burke Fox were all-conference and Sullivan Coggins and Jon Pyron were honorable mention.

Flathead placed two boys on the Western AA all-conference team: Arsen Sokolov and Ethan Vandenbosch.

State AA champion Hellgate had four All-State selections: Player of the Year Beckett Arthur, Marcus Anderson, Reggie Duce and Lars Thorne-Thomsen.
