Marjorie (Riley) Isaacson

| November 22, 2020 12:00 AM

“Feisty with a sense of humor, she flitted into heaven on angel wings.”

Marge passed away on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at the age of 94 of natural causes at the BeeHive in Kalispell.

She was born in 1926 to John and Laura Riley in Henry, South Dakota. She grew on the family farm with nine siblings. After high school, she went to college and obtained a teaching certificate. Along with teaching, Marge worked as a waitress and taxi dispatcher.

In 1950, Marge met George Isaacson at a dance. They married in 1951 and together raised three children, John, Doug and Patti. George followed construction and over the years they lived in seven states and 14 towns before settling in Eureka in 1968. She was very involved in the Catholic faith community. She prepared alter linens, prepared food for potlucks, taught youth classes, and made and sold pies for the church booth at the county fair. She loved to tell jokes and travel, and especially enjoyed times in Washington, D.C., and San Francisco.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband George, her son Doug, her parents and eight siblings.

She is survived by her brother Don, son John (Josie) Isaacson in Eagle River, Alaska, her daughter Patti (Jerry) Sorensen of Bigfork, five grandchildren, Tadd, Heather, Alicia, Shane and Michelle; three stepgrandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A private family service was held on Friday, Nov. 20, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell with interment next to her husband and son at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery in Eureka.

Marge’s family would like to thank Rosalie, Bev, Ronnie, Rose and Joe, and Donna for looking after Marge in Eureka. Also, we extend thanks to Michelle, VilJoya Independent Living, and BeeHive Homes in Kalispell for the care, support, and love they gave Marge.

Marge lived a full and fun life and will be missed by family and friends.
