Employees deal with assault, confrontation

A man wearing a black jacket and backpack allegedly assaulted two customers at a gas station and the manager wanted the Kalispell Police Department to ban him from this and other locations.

A man reportedly became confrontational with a grocery store employee who approached him.

A man called police because he was allegedly having a disagreement with his ex-girlfriend after she stole his cellphone and woke him up. She reportedly told officers that she pays for his phone and was looking through it when “she saw he was cheating on her,” noting that she had his baby a few weeks ago. Both individuals had been drinking and agreed to stay in separate areas of the home.

Meanwhile, police received a report from a woman that her boyfriend allegedly came up to her, grabbed her suitcase and took off. She told officers she received a message stating he left her belongings on the side of the highway. Officers tried to locate the property and learned it had been dropped off at a gas station.

A woman out walking her dog was suspicious of a truck that seemed to be following her and when she turned around to look, it would turn off on a street to later reappear. Officers spoke with the woman, who decided to continue walking, and told her to call back if she wanted a ride home due to the suspicious circumstances. Officers then confirmed the men in the vehicle had been looking around for yard work.

A woman who heard a loud bang discovered that a vehicle ran into her fence, damaging it, and drove off. Officers helped put a fence panel that was knocked out back together.

A woman reportedly noticed a neighbor’s door was wide open and an unsupervised 1- or 2-year-old was outside with a dog. When the woman called out to the parents no one answered so she put the dog inside, shut the door and brought the child to her residence. Although the father, who she thought might be hearing impaired, eventually came out and got the child, she thought he didn’t seem concerned the child was missing.
