Class AA

Helena 40, Flathead 0

Helena’s Kaden Huot threw for 274 yards and five touchdowns Friday, leading the unbeaten Bengals past Flathead 40-0 in Western AA football at Legends Stadium.

Huot threw three first-half scoring passes to Raef Miller, covering 27, 17 (on fourth down) and 9 yards. The last came with just 24 seconds left in the second quarter and made it 20-0.

Flathead’s Charlie Hinchey – who didn’t start at quarterback but came on in relief of Jackson Walker — was intercepted on the Braves’ first possession after halftime. That set up a 23-yard scoring run from Marcus Evans that made it 27-0.

The Braves (0-4) took their second straight shutout loss. The defense held up well, including an interception by Tommy Wells, until late in the first half.

The offense managed just 130 yards – though the Braves were in Helena territory a handful of times. One good chance came when Hinchey found Wells for 26 yards down to the Helena 44 late in the first half. But the Braves punted and Helena executed a clock drive.

Henshaw ran the ball eight times for 47 yards for the Braves. Wells had three catches for 39 yards.
