The Flathead Food Bank temporarily closed Monday after an office staff member tested positive for COVID-19, but is expected to reopen by Sept. 22.

According to a Friday post on the organization’s Facebook page, all other staff were tested and those results have come back negative.

“The staff involved did not have contact with the food and we are glad it is an isolated incident,” the post states. “Please know that if you have received food from us there is no concern of exposure and you do not need to be tested.”

The food bank collaborated with the Flathead City-County Health Department after the positive case was detected and followed guidelines to quarantine at least until other test results came back.

The food bank will open again Tuesday, according to the post.

Jaimie Quinn, executive director of the food bank, emphasized in a Friday phone call “there is no cause for alarm.”
