Man can’t stay away from train tracks

| September 19, 2020 12:00 AM

An older man fell onto the railroad tracks in Kalispell and did not get up. It turned out Kalispell Police Department officers had already dealt with the man in a similar situation earlier in the week.

Someone complained about a neighbor’s chickens that he apparently allows to run loose. The chickens reportedly come onto the caller’s property and go under her car.

A man’s truck broke down and then about three weeks later, when it was still in the same location; a driver hit the broken-down truck’s side mirror.

A woman was told to call law enforcement if she noticed any suspicious activity outside her residence, and then she saw someone outside with a camera taking photos of her house.

An intoxicated man started biting his own arm outside a food bank. He apparently did not respond when personnel there tried to talk to him. He was transported to get medical help.

Seven people allegedly got into a fight behind a restaurant on East Idaho Street, but then they all dispersed.

A woman said someone sat in a restaurant and waited for her to leave. When she left, the patient stranger “threatened to hurt” her.

A man said campaign signs in his yard were stolen for the third time. The signs later showed up in a pile on his sidewalk. He did not specify which candidate the signs supported.

Some hardworking trespassers apparently pushed a side-by-side onto a man’s property and then later pushed it again to leave the area.

A man was reportedly seen stealing a chain saw from a hardware store. It turned out officers had previously experienced issues with the same individual stealing from a quilt store. However, an employee at the hardware store said there was “nothing that they could do.”

Another, perhaps less experienced shoplifter, reportedly left a store with a cart full of unpaid-for merchandise, but then she dropped her wallet in the parking lot on her way out and employees were able to find her ID.

An accidental caller was reluctant to give information to a KPD dispatcher, but once the dispatcher explained why the information was necessary, the caller was forthcoming.
