Northwest Montana United Way successfully completed a $300,000 matching grant challenge for its capital campaign, raising $325,750 by the March 31 deadline.

“Our anonymous matching grant donor will match all donations up to $300,000, making our grand total $625,750,” the organization said in a press release.

The Gateway 2 Miracles campaign aims to raise $4.2 million to retire the mortgage, complete repairs and build a reserve fund for the future needs of the Gateway Community Center in the former Gateway West Mall on U.S. 2 in Kalispell. About a third of the money has been raised since the campaign launched last fall.

More than 20 agencies are located in the Gateway Community Center, acting as a sort of one-stop-shop for clients. Campus partners include CASA For Kids, NAMI Flathead and the Flathead Food Bank.

The center’s meeting and conference rooms are also frequently used by other organizations not housed in the facility.
