Patricia E. Holder, 78

| April 11, 2021 12:00 AM

Patricia E. Holder went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle following a brief illness.

She was born on Aug. 14, 1942, to Homer and Mildred Berner and grew up in the Flathead Valley where she graduated from Flathead County High School in 1960 and then graduated from the Kalispell School of Cosmetology in 1962. She married Dale Holder on Oct. 19, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Eureka. Together they lived in Eureka and raised three children who were always their priority in life. Pat cherished her Eureka friends and family and was a longstanding member of the First Baptist Church. Following the loss of Dale, Pat moved to Kalispell in 2012 to be closer to her mother and daughter Willa and family. True to her nature, she made many new friends and enjoyed her new Kalispell home.

Pat loved her children and six grandchildren who were her greatest pride and joy. She delighted in any sport her kids or grandkids were involved with and spent countless hours cheering for various teams over the years. Pat worked as a hair stylist in Eureka for more than 20 years until she retired to pursue her passion for quilting full time. She was an accomplished and prolific quiltmaker. She belonged to quilting guilds in Eureka and Kalispell and was proud to be the featured quilter in the Eureka Montana Quilt Show. Her quilts won many awards over the years and more importantly warmed the hearts of her family and friends as she gave away her handmade treasures to those that she loved. Pat had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling funny stories and laughing about the simple things in life. She was active in the local community where she served on the Lincoln County Fair board for a number of years. Pat was an avid reader, gardener and loved the outdoors where she had a knack for finding the best fishing holes and huckleberry patches. She loved to travel and was always up for another adventure with her family.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Mildred Berner, and her husband Dale Holder.

She is survived by her son Brent and wife Carrie, and their children Ryan and Tayler (Featherly) and husband Jace of Eureka; son Mitch and wife Amber, and their children Alex and Logan of Ridgefield, Connecticut; and daughter Willa (Manger) and husband Jason, and their children Rielly and Abi of Kalispell.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Pat’s name to: Wings, P.O. Box 7852, Kalispell, MT 59904; or Sparrow’s Nest of Northwest Montana, P.O. Box 8384, Kalispell, MT 59904.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held over the summer and Pat’s ashes will be spread in her favorite places, consistent with her wishes.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” — Proverbs 31:25
